Celebrating Two Wins and Three Finalist Recognitions at the 2026 ClubsACT Awards

We’re proud to share that Canberra Southern Cross Club was recognised across five categories at the 2026 ClubsACT Clubs & Community Awards, highlighting the impact of our people, programs and partnerships across the Canberra community.

Adding to the celebration, we were also honoured to host this year’s awards evening, welcoming clubs and industry professionals from across the ACT to recognise the outstanding initiatives and individuals making a difference in our communities.

Celebrating Diversity & Social Inclusion – Winner

This award recognised our supported employment approach, which focuses on creating meaningful opportunities, genuine responsibilities and a workplace where people are valued for their contribution. By focusing on ability rather than assumptions, we’re helping build confidence, independence and a sense of belonging for every member of our team.

Individual Service to the Industry – Winner

A familiar face to generations of members, Nick Pervical was recognised for more than 16 years of dedication to making people feel welcome. Through countless conversations, warm greetings and genuine care for members and guests, Nick has helped create the sense of belonging that sits at the heart of club life.

Sustainability & Environment – Finalist

Our partnership with Rise Above – Canberra Region Cancer Support transforms everyday recycling into ongoing support for local people undergoing active cancer treatment. Through the ACT Container Deposit Scheme, eligible containers collected across our venues help reduce waste while generating funds that stay within our community.

Hospitality Innovation – Finalist

Sometimes innovation means returning to the fundamentals. This submission highlighted our transition from pre-packaged desserts to fresh, handcrafted cakes created in-house by our pastry team, delivering greater quality, more choice and an enhanced experience for members and guests.

Community Development & Wellbeing – Finalist

This submission showcased our partnership with Roundabout Canberra, where our Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team volunteered alongside the charity’s team to help prepare essential items for vulnerable local families. It reflects our belief that meaningful community impact is built through action, partnership and service.

These recognitions reflect the passion, commitment and hard work of our people, as well as the incredible community organisations and partners we’re fortunate to work alongside.
