Community Rewards Spotlight: Woden Valley RSL

  • Row Image

The Woden Valley RSL is a sub-branch of the ACT Branch of the Returned and Services League of Australia. It was established in 1954 and has a rich history of service. The Sub-Branch supports its members by providing advocacy, camaraderie and commemorative services.

To sustain its programs and services, Woden Valley RSL relies on its own limited financial resources, the ANZAC and Remembrance Day appeals, and some external support. It relies on volunteers and a small paid staff to support its operations. The CSCC Community Rewards program plays a useful role that is appreciated by Sub-Branch members. By contributing to the Woden Valley RSL, the CSCC is aiding their efforts to enhance the well-being of Sub-Branch members, former and serving members of the Australian Defence Force, and their dependants. Through community support and referrals, commemorative services, and contributions to worthy causes within the community, Woden Valley RSL continues its invaluable work, thanks to the support of programs like ours.

The Board and members of the Woden Valley Sub-Branch, express their gratitude for their relationship with the CSCC. The Sub-Branch Secretary, Greg Kennett, states, “We are grateful for our inclusion in the Canberra Southern Cross Club Community Rewards Program. That assistance provides welcome support and encouragement to our organisation in numerous ways.”
