This year has been a momentous one for the Weetangera Primary School Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association, marked by the opening of the first stage of their new playground. The nature play area, a collaborative effort between the P&C and the school, has been years in the making and is now providing students with a fun and dynamic space to play, explore, and connect.

The Weetangera Primary School P&C Association is at the heart of the Weetangera school community, raising funds, providing a parent voice, and running key initiatives such as the school canteen and second-hand uniform stall. Their work extends beyond fundraising, fostering a vibrant school culture through events such as the lapathon, school discos, and the much-loved annual fete.

In 2024, Weetangera Primary School P&C Association has brought families together through a range of events, including a lively school disco, a cozy winter-warmer movie night, and their biggest fundraiser—the school fete. Held in early November, the fete welcomed over 1,000 visitors and raised an outstanding $22,000 despite the threat of a thunderstorm. Canberra Southern Cross Club was proud to support the event with the donation of two beautiful hampers for the raffle, which added to the community spirit and excitement of the day.

As a Community Rewards partner since last year, Canberra Southern Cross Club has directly contributed to the P&C’s efforts, including the much-needed playground upgrades. These contributions are making a real impact, helping them continue to enhance the school environment for students and their families.
