Presented by the Canberra Jazz Club, the South Seas Stompers will deliver traditional New Orleans-style jazz, taking you back in time to the foot-stomping and driving sound that was 1920s classic jazz.

Trumpeter Tony Thomas, banjoist Jim Styles and, usually on piano but taking a turn on alto sax, Ron Cook, will again be presenting their jazz festival band with some extra friends invited.

Joining them on drums will be the “Mossy Point Kid” Ian Hill and newly returned to Canberra, Evan Smith on bass. Canberra’s favourite local trombone player, Owen Cooper, will round out the line-up.

This promises to be another fabulous afternoon of top traditional jazz! It is also a great opportunity to show your support for the CJC’s treasured member musicians who number but a few these days as most have now retired from playing.

Music 1-4pm. Some great lunch offerings will be available from 12 noon in the bistro.
