Jazz at Jamison – Liam O’Connel & Good Gosh
- This event has passed.
Sunday 14 July, Jamison
Guitarist, banjoist and songwriter Liam O’Connell leads a brilliant 7-piece collection of some of Canberra’s most talented jazz musicians.
Good Gosh plays an array of traditional jazz, blues and swing era hits, including some of Liam’s original songs. Expect to also hear hits from the great violin and guitar duos of Joe Venuti & Eddie Lang and Stephane Grappelli & Django Reinhardt, such as Chinatown, Tiger Rag, When the Saints Go Marching In, Oh Lady Be Good, Sweet Georgia Brown, & HCQ strut, to name a few.
Appearing with Liam will be Andreo Esguerra on violin, Zach Raffan on trumpet, Justin Buckingham on clarinet & sax, Simon Milman on bass and drummer Mark Levers. Replacing the piano on this occasion will be special guest guitarist Matthew Lustri.
The band’s inaugural appearance at ‘Jazz at Jamison’ last year drew a huge, appreciative crowd. Back by popular demand, you don’t want to miss the return of this highly accomplished group of musicians!
Music from 1pm in the lounge. Bookings recommended.
Jazz at Jamison is presented in partnership with the Canberra Jazz Club.
