Jazz at Jamison – Bridge City Jazz Band
- This event has passed.
Sunday, 8 March, Jamison
Making their annual and eagerly awaited return to Jazz at Jamison is the brilliant Sydney-based Dixieland combination of Bridge City Jazz Band and special guests.
The band no longer plays as the combo “Bridge City and Black Mountain Jazz Band” due to the retirement from playing of all but one of Canberra’s famous Black Mountain Jazz Band, but the top jazz hasn’t changed!
Performing on the day will be some of this country’s most talented traditional jazz musicians. The line-up will include leader and banjoist Dennis Quinlan (Bridge City), Ian Hill (Black Mountain Jazz Band) on drums, Colin Davies (Bridge City) on double bass, Gordon Brown (Station House Seven Jazz Band) on keys, Adrian Sheen (Mulgoa Street Jazz Band) on trombone, Robbie Mann taking a turn on clarinet (generally a much-in-demand pianist with various jazz bands), and Geoff Power on trumpet (various high-profile bands including the Great Gatsby Orchestra).
Playing your favourite 1920’s traditional Dixieland tunes with a New Orleans flavour, this special seven-piece combination is guaranteed to entertain.
