Our Christmas Giving Trees are back this year with donations accepted from Monday 20 November until Sunday 10 December. Gifts placed under our Giving Tree at Woden and Stellar Canberra will be donated to Woden Community Service, and gifts at Tuggeranong and Jamison will be donated to Vinnies.

The Child, Youth and Family Services Program at Woden Community Service provides support services for children, young people, and families who are facing everyday life challenges in the Woden, Weston, South Canberra, and Molonglo regions. Our team of case managers and youth workers walk the journey alongside community members needing support with homelessness, domestic and family violence, family breakdown, financial strain, education, advocacy, and service system navigation.

Christmas is a time for celebrating, decorating the family Christmas tree, or catching up with friends and family. However, it is very different for some members of the community who are disconnected from family, homeless, or unable to afford gifts for their loved ones.

We need your help, to assist us in making Christmas 2023 a happy and enjoyable time for our community.

All you need to do is choose a gift from the gift ideas list. There are different age ranges, genders, and gift ideas to assist with your gift-giving. Simply purchase a gift(s) and place it under the tree before 10 December, which allows staff time to drop off gifts in time for Christmas.

With many families unable to afford Christmas presents kids often miss out on a gift under the tree. By donating gifts and non-perishable food, you can help Vinnies support locals experiencing disadvantages this holiday season.
