The Canberra Southern Cross Club is currently seeking a dynamic and suitably qualified chef to join us. If you possess the right skills, experience, and a genuine love for creating delightful culinary experiences, especially through the art of Argentinian-style Parilla technique, we want to hear from you!

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are always maintained throughout all kitchen areas.
  • Cook or directly supervise the cooking of items that require skillful preparation.
  • Support the work of the head/executive chefs, cooks, and other kitchen employees to assure that food preparation is economical and technically correct and within budgeted labor cost goals.
  • Evaluates food products to assure that quality standards are consistently attained.

Requirements

  • A Diploma in commercial cookery or equivalent culinary qualification or above.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience working in a fast-paced and high volume kitchen.
  • Work experience for clubs or hotels is preferred.
  • A good team player with leadership skills.
  • Ability to train & coach kitchen staff.
  • Prepare and cook Parilla style dishes
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining the volume and delivery of quality of dishes.

Salary – $73,150 p.a. based on qualifications and experience.
