Stage 1 of Woden Central (the new name for the dining and bar areas of the Woden venue) is now complete, with the new kitchen, the Patio, café and Henry’s play area now open.
Stage 2 will see the Family Dining area and Clubhouse and Bar completed in early September.
Our multimillion dollar refurbishment commenced in March and will be completed in early September. Our vision for Woden Central is to provide a wide range of relaxed, contemporary spaces for all Members to enjoy.
The completion of this first stage sees the closure of the Southern Cross buffet and enables our team of chefs to start serving the new menu, which includes freshly made wood fired pizza, as well as some new additions to our gourmet burger range, like the maple bacon cheeseburger. And for our vegetarian customers, the new twirled zucchini and sweet potato burger is sure to be a favourite.
The new café offers a selection of old favourites and some new items, including a Reuben sandwich with corn beef, sauerkraut, pickles, swiss cheese and Russian dressing on light rye bread. The café has a number of new desserts too, including a macadamia and salted caramel torte, and will be home to 18 flavours of delicious handmade Bermagui Gelati Clinic Gelati – making for a tasty afternoon treat, or a lovely finish to your meal.
The all new Henry’s kids play area features a range of arcade games operated by swipe cards, eliminating the need for tokens. The soft play area will also make a welcome return to the new space.
During the upgrade there’s still lots of reasons to visit, with our functions and events spaces, and gaming room trading as normal.
Stage 2 Renovations
Stage 2 kicked off in July with the closure of the front section of the venue while we build the new Clubhouse and Bar.
Throughout Stage 2, a temporary bar is operating at the base of the stairs between the TAB and the community lounge, offering Great Northern and Carlton Draught on tap, along with a range of wine, spirits and packaged beers.
We’ve also installed two new screens in the community lounge to ensure there are extra spaces to watch the footy.
Top Of The Grille – Lunch and Dinner
Throughout Stage 2, the Top of the Grille restaurant continues to serve all your favourites cooked to order, seven days per week for lunch and dinner, on Level 1 of the Club. The menu is the same as the Woden Central offering downstairs.
