| Chefs who have received two Michelin stars are rare and highly prized world-wide for their imagination, skill and dedication.
Anurag Gautam, Executive Chef at Peppercress Restaurant at Tuggeranong’s Southern Cross Club, is such a chef. By 29, Anurag had been awarded two Michelin stars - the third youngest Briton bestowed with this accolade.
Luckily for Canberra, Anurag’s other love (his family) was enough to tempt him away from the fame and five-star lifestyle that go hand in hand with Michelin stars.
His career has taken him all over the world, from London, to Vegas, Sun City and Sydney. He has worked with prominent chefs, such as fellow Michelin star recipients Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal.
At Peppercress, Anurag has continued his award-winning ways. In 2009 Anurag, along with sous chef James Mitchell, used their imagination and flair to win gold at Chefs on Show at the 2009 Clubs ACT awards for excellence.
“At Pepercress we focus on quality, but at family affordable prices. James and I insist on using only fresh produce and we are always looking for innovative food combinations to feature at the restaurant,” Anurag said.
A special two course set menu dinner, with wine paired to each course, is prepared by these award winning chefs each Wednesday night for just $30 per person. To reserve your table telephone Peppercress Restaurant on 6293 7200. |
