Canberra Southern Cross Club to purchase Western Districts Rugby Union Club
On the 8th April 2008, Joseph Hayes and Murray Smith of McGrathNicol were appointed as Receivers and Managers of the Western Districts Rugby Union Club (Wests or the Club). McGrathNicol have continued to trade the Club on a business as usual basis while finding a suitable party to purchase the Club’s assets and business.
The Canberra Southern Cross Club (CSCC) agreed to the terms of sale on the 2nd of July 2008.. As a final part of the sale process, the Gaming Machine Act 2004 requires that members of both Clubs vote via an official ballot to authorise the transfer of the gaming machine licences held at each of Wests three premises.
All members received an individual notice advising them of the details of the matter and the ballot.
