As a large organisation in the ACT the Canberra Southern Cross Club understands our responsibility to our members, the community and the environment.
As part of our overall commitment to the environment, the Club is looking at a number of initiatives that will be firsts for ACT clubs. One such initiative is an undertaking to purchase carbon credits to offset some carbon emissions produced at our Woden venue between 2nd June and 15th October 2008.
The Southern Cross Club will be the only club in the ACT with such a commitment to the environment and the introduction of this initiative coincides with World Environment Day on the 5th June 2008.
PURCHASE CARBON CREDITS
Members can be involved in reducing their carbon emissions by purchasing carbon credits at the Southern Cross Club Woden reception from Monday 2nd June. The goal is for members to offset 100 Tonnes of CO2 by Wednesday the 15th October 2008.
One Tonne of CO2 Carbon Credit is ONLY $19.95: A great starting point. |
Enviro Friendly Products Carbon Credits are government-certified credits. They currently use the NSW Government NGACs. Each credit represents a tonne of CO2 emissions saved, and is created under the NSW Greenhouse Gas Reduction Scheme (GGAS). More details available at www.enviro-friendly.com
